This is a high quality hand woven Navajo tapestry by artist Marlinda Etsitty. It is hand crafted from wool yarn in the classic Two Grey Hills style. This fantastic rug measures approximately 51 inches x 21 inches (approximately 4 feet x 2 feet).

In the early 20th century the Native American community of Two Grey Hills established itself with fine collectors for its bordered rugs with geometric patterning. Instead of the more commonly used dyed wool, weavers of Two Grey Hills typically use natural sheep colors of tan, brown, gray, black, and white. The style was popularized by traders of the time, and the simple geometric shapes became more and more complex. Families began creating their own unique style while maintaining the popular geometric shapes and patterns. Today it is common to find this style from weavers outside of Two Grey Hills.
